ITPI undertake laboratory level prototype development of solar and solar hybrid refrigerators, and the development of solar powered technologies for processing medical sharps waste.

Professional Advice and Consultative Roles

ITPI provides CC rapid assessment and rehabilitation guidance, logistics planning/forecasting, and field evaluation of CC equipment as well as advice on the application of Effective Vaccine Store Management (EVSM) protocol for cold stores. ITPI undertakes rapid assessment of incinerators and medical waste management practices, and provides rural medical waste mapping and planning support.

Rehabilitation and Planning of Cold Chain Equipment

ITPI provides assessment, rehabilitation and planning of CC equipment from central to peripheral levels, and offers technical guidance and support to phase-out CFC refrigerant equipment. The Company installs and commissions specialised CC equipment including solar refrigerators, and temperature monitoring/alarm systems.

In addition, the team works closely with the systems and training components of ITPI to provide health-related training and IT solutions for CC. Recent repeat contracts include:

• The design, development and validation of Management Information Systems
(MIS) for CC equipment, vaccines, consumables and waste streams.
• The organization of inter-country training programmes (SEARO) in CC maintenance and planning, and in CFC containment and use of alternative refrigerants.
