IT Power has experience with developing Project Design Documents (PDD) for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Projects under the Kyoto mechanisms. IT Power also develops baseline and monitoring methodologies for several projects. IT Power has worked on range of CDM projects including Waste to Energy projects. IT Power India has completed the baseline study, Project Design Document and business plan for the 24 MW Kothari Sugar and Chemicals baggase based sugar cogeneration Project located in Tamilnadu, India. The project involves the installation of high pressure boiler and double extraction and condensing type turbo- generator to utilize the baggase from sugar manufacturing unit for power generation. The project will supply power to the grid after captive consumption will result in savings of over 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide over the first 10 years of operation. The project has successfully obtained host country approval, validation from operational entity and up for registration with Executive Board.
IT Power India has also developed PDD for 15 MW Kedarnath Sugars baggase based cogeneration project located in Karnataka, India. The project involves the installation of high pressure boiler and double extraction and condensing type turbo- generator. The project will supply power to the grid after captive consumption will result in savings of over 700,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide over the first 10 years of operation. Project is undergoing host country approval.
IT Power group has also purchased carbon credits from both the above biomass Cogen projects through joint Venture company Carbon Resource Management (CRM).
